Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones is pleased to announce that it has once again been recognized as a “Delaware Powerhouse” by Law360. This year’s prestigious recognition was awarded to only four law firms in Delaware, and highlighted the firm's reputation as, "one of Delaware's go-to firms for many types of parties and local counsel — with the Sientra Inc., Vice Media Group and Yellow Corp. bankruptcies serving as recent examples."

In the firm’s profile, Laura Davis Jones, managing partner of the firm’s Delaware office, shared insights with Law360 about the firm's enduring success. She emphasized that the firm's strong bankruptcy brand has been instrumental in its steady growth over the decades, contributing significantly to its recognition as a 2024 Delaware Powerhouse.

Originally founded in Los Angeles in 1983, Pachulski Stang has expanded its reach to handle bankruptcies across the nation. Jones pointed out that the firm primarily focuses on what is known as the middle market of bankruptcy, representing companies with debt ranging from $100 million to $2 billion. This specialization allows the firm to provide targeted and effective legal solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by these businesses.

"What differentiates us from a lot of firms is that we're lead counsel when cases get referred to us, or we're willing to do co-counsel or local counsel, too," Jones explained to Law360. This commitment to client service underpins the firm’s reputation and success in the competitive landscape of bankruptcy law.

The firm's profile also covered its representation of the unsecured creditors in the chapter 11 bankruptcy of Vice Media Group, which led to the confirmation of a plan establishing a cash reserve for general unsecured creditors and a plan administrator. Those creditors are expected to receive a 1% to 2% recovery, according to case filings.

"When you're at potentially the bottom of the capital stack representing the creditors' committee," Brad Sandler explained to Law360, "you have to be creative and very thoughtful and strategic in figuring out a solution to get a recovery to your constituency, who often is out of the money."
